Natalie grew up in Northern Alberta and attended Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto for Hospitality and Tourism and has been in the hospitality, tourism and events industry for over 35 years. She is the founder of the Sustainable Events Forum and is in the Canadian Meetings & Events Hall of Fame. She is the recipient of numerous awards for her work in sustainable events, including the Events Industry Council Global Social Impact Award, The Joy Fox Award for Innovation and Excellence and the President's Award from Canadian Society of Professional Event Planners

She is passionate about sustainability and supporting local solutions to global problems. Natalie is also the Past President of CanSPEP, the Canadian Society of Professional Event Planners.
